XperienceSthlm offers a different way to discover the city, moving beyond traditional sightseeing to experiences shaped by culture, design, art and everyday life in Stockholm.

The team runs private and small group tours, from city walks and cultural experiences to nature excursions. These include literary encounters like the Lola Akinmade Book Club Experience, thrifting through Stockholm’s second-hand scene, exploring the archipelago's islands by boat, or diving into the local architecture, design and urban art spaces.

Beyond the city, their one-of-a-kind tour in Uppsala offers another way to experience Sweden’s heritage through a local lens.

Curated with intention

Each tour is thoughtfully designed, with strong research and local insight behind it, highlighting parts of the city that are often overlooked. From hidden corners of Stockholm to well-known sites seen through a different lens, each journey offers a perspective that goes beyond what is typically offered in the city.

All tours can be fully customised, adapting to individual preferences, interests and accessibility needs.

Connected to the local community

XperienceSthlm works closely with a network of local partners, from small business owners and artisans to creatives and women led initiatives.

Through these collaborations, each experience contributes to a wider community ecosystem, supporting over 15 local initiatives and businesses.

The business operates as a locally owned cooperative with a diverse team and 100% local guides, something that is not always the case across the industry. Guides are paid above industry averages, creating more sustainable opportunities within the local community.

Slow, human centred travel

Experiences are designed to encourage a slower way of exploring, where time is spent engaging with the surroundings, the stories behind them and the people you meet along the way. Whether in the city or out in nature, the focus is on being present and understanding the context of what you are seeing.

Story Behind XperienceSthlm

Majority women led, women owned and inclusive, XperienceSthlm was founded by a group of 6 individuals (Francisca, Louisa, Don, Oscar, Sanchia, Tanya) who shared a common vision of creating a different kind of travel experience in Stockholm.

Many of the founders come from the tourism industry, having previously worked as tour guides and saw an opportunity to move away from conventional mass tourism and instead focus on building experiences that prioritise people and communities over profit.

Today, the team represents over 15 nationalities and more than 10 languages, reflecting the diversity of the travellers curious to discover Sweden in the most authentic way possible.

The team also reflects a wide range of lived experiences, including members, in both team and leadership roles, who identify as neurodivergent, BIPOC and part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
