Planet & People

Experiencing the place beyond the stay

Guests are encouraged to explore the surrounding area, from smaller villages and local artisans to lesser visited places, keeping value within the local community. On request, the team can arrange tastings of local products, visits to small and educational farms and custom wine tours across the Chianti and Brunello regions. Cooking classes and horseback riding offer a more hands on way to experience the region, whether in the Montagnola Senese nature park, along the Via Francigena or across the landscapes of Chianti and Val d’Elsa.

History and culture within its walls

Made up of restored buildings with 10 apartments and an independent villa, each space was once part of the original farmstead, now carefully brought back to life. Each apartment has its own entrance and private outdoor area, giving you your own space while still being part of the wider setting. Locally sourced materials define the spaces, with much of the restoration focused on reusing and repurposing existing elements. Local craftsmanship plays a central role, ensuring the architecture remains true to the region while offering comfort for modern stays.

A holistic way to experience the region

Time here is spent between nearby villages, countryside walks and moments within the village itself, without rushing from one place to the next. That same approach is reflected in how the property operates, from solar energy and rainwater irrigation to waste separation, reduced plastic use and ecological cleaning practices, ensuring the experience remains in balance with the environment.

Story Behind Ripostena

In 1989, while looking for a country home, Alberto arrived at what was then an abandoned hilltop village, and from that moment, a love story that would last more than 30 years began.

What followed was 6 years of restoration work, carried out with the help of local artisans to preserve the rural character of the place.

What began as one person’s conviction slowly became a shared family project. Today, that same connection continues. Ripostena is not just a restored village, but part of a family’s history, a place passed down and shared across generations.
