Your trip helps fund local training
Part of what travellers spend with MOYO helps fund its Nature Positive Tourism training programmes for guides and local tourism entrepreneurs. The programmes provide practical training around nature-positive tourism, conservation and working with local communities. Many of the guides and partners involved in MOYO's trips have taken part themselves, creating a direct connection between the trips travellers take and the skills being developed locally.
MOYO Nature Travel
Wild places worth travelling for
MOYO Nature Travel is a women-owned nonprofit organisation creating nature-positive journeys and retreats in some of the world's wildest landscapes.
From tracking wildlife and exploring rewilding areas to hiking, yoga and nature retreats, every experience is designed to bring travellers closer to nature while supporting the places they visit.
With trips across Europe, Africa and Asia, MOYO takes travellers from the wild forests of Slovenia and Romania to the savannahs of Kenya and marine ecosystems of Indonesia. Trips are created with trusted local guides, conservation organisations and tourism businesses, many of whom have taken part in MOYO's Nature Positive Tourism training programmes.

Planet & People
Giving back with every trip
Every MOYO journey contributes to conservation and the communities connected to the destination. The team works with local guides, locally owned businesses and non-profit organisations, with donations made to community and conservation initiatives through every trip they operate. Travellers may also have the opportunity to meet the people working to restore and protect these landscapes, learning first-hand about the conservation work happening in the places they visit.
Ethical wildlife experiences
Wildlife is a big part of many MOYO journeys, but seeing an animal never comes before its wellbeing. Experiences are developed with local experts and conservation partners, with an emphasis on observing wildlife safely and respectfully in its natural environment. From brown bears and European bison to rhinos and elephants, encounters give animals the space they need while helping travellers understand more about the ecosystems they depend on.
Story Behind MOYO Nature Travel
MOYO is co-founded by Aukje and Simon, bringing together decades of experience in nature-based tourism, wildlife, conservation and training.
Aukje's love of adventure travel began with a bicycle journey from Tanzania back to the Netherlands. She later spent more than a decade working in European nature conservation, including five years focused on wildlife tourism and training in rewilding areas. Simon began his career in the safari industry in Southern Africa before spending the following decade supporting wildlife tourism development and training across Europe.
Together, they created MOYO around the idea that tourism shouldn't simply minimise its impact on nature but actively contribute to its recovery. Today, its journeys, retreats and training programmes bring travellers, local tourism businesses and conservation organisations together to support wild places and the communities around them.

Kim
The Power of Nature Women's Adventure in Italy was a wonderful experience. It was carefully crafted, well organized, and it was rich with movement and information. The guides selected for us shared openly and authentically their love for the mountains and wildlife, as well as the difficulties of rewilding these areas. Aukje and Sandrijn created a lovely environment through laughter, reflection, movement, and friendship to make a truly lovely week.

Nature positive tourism is another way of thinking. I know that the next time I go on holiday or trekking into nature, I will not only think about ‘leave no trace’, but also about how I can contribute to not only keeping that beautiful nature existing and accessible for me, but also for all it’s inhabitants.
