Hyperborea Tours
Iceland away from the crowds
Hyperborea Tours offers a quieter, more immersive way to explore Iceland, away from the usual hotspots and crowds.
Operating year round with experiences that shift with the seasons, from Northern Lights in winter to highland landscapes in summer, each journey is designed around what the environment allows at that time of year.
This includes glacier hikes and ice climbing on Iceland’s ice fields, as well as journeys into remote regions like Landmannalaugar and Kerlingarfjöll when conditions allow.
Away from the usual routes
Routes are designed to avoid crowded areas, taking you into lesser-visited landscapes where there is space to slow down and take in your surroundings. Whether it is glaciers, volcanic highlands or remote nature reserves, each experience prioritises depth over coverage, giving you the space to move through one of the most scenic countries in the world.
----
Connected to local communities
Hyperborea Tours works closely with small, locally owned businesses across Iceland, from cafés and restaurants to guides and service providers. Each stop is chosen with intention, ensuring that your time in Iceland contributes directly to the people and communities that call it home.
It is an approach that keeps value within the destination while creating experiences that feel more connected to local life, not just the landscape.
----
Shaped by the environment
Every experience is built around Iceland’s natural conditions.
Some journeys are only possible at certain times of year, from Northern Lights tours between September and April to highland regions like Landmannalaugar and Kerlingarfjöll, accessible only in summer.
Rather than adapting nature to fit a schedule, the experience adapts to the environment, allowing each trip to feel aligned with the conditions and the season you are travelling in.
Story Behind Hyperborea Tours
Hyperborea Tours was created from a shared passion for exploration and a strong sense of responsibility towards the environments it operates in.
At the centre of it is Evangelos, the founder, whose approach to travel is shaped by a deep respect for nature and a belief that experiencing Iceland should never come at the expense of the landscapes themselves.
His focus has always been on offering experiences that respect both the land and the people who experience it. This means avoiding overcrowded areas, keeping distance from wildlife and choosing ways of travelling that do not place unnecessary pressure on fragile ecosystems.
