Travel4Purpose believes the most memorable travel experiences come from genuine human connection. Rather than simply visiting destinations, travellers are invited to spend time with the people who know them best, sharing stories, traditions and everyday life through experiences that are respectful, welcoming and designed in collaboration with local communities.
Travel4Purpose was founded by Sham, a Kenyan who wanted to help travellers experience a side of her country that often goes unseen. After learning about the negative impacts tourism can have on local communities, culture and the environment, she set out to create a different approach, one where travel benefits both the people visiting and the people who call Kenya home.
What began as a passion project has grown into a locally led travel company built on genuine relationships rather than transactions.
Today, Sham and her team work alongside local guides, hosts and small businesses to create experiences that encourage deeper cultural connections while ensuring tourism supports local communities across Kenya.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with T4P. From the very beginning, the thoughtful touches — customized water bottles with our names, seeds as gifts, and a handwritten welcome letter — truly showed how much they value their guests. Even though our trip was short, T4P carefully customized everything to fit our budget without compromising the experience. The snorkeling safari was a real highlight—beautiful, vibrant waters full of life, and such a joy to explore. One of the most memorable parts of our trip was the sunset canoe ride along the Kongo River. We had the best time. A huge thank you to Shami and Jinita for supporting us every inch of the way from the beautiful memorable dinner in the Masai Mara to the many wonderful surprises along our journey through Rwanda, Bwindi National Park in Uganda, the Masai Mara in Kenya to Serenghetti, Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar in Tanzania. They worked with us to build our personal perfect itinerary and even when things went wrong their professional support made sure we were back on track in no time and everything ran so smoothly. Thoroughly enjoyed our Safari experience in East Africa’s rich landscape. We have so many amazing, lovely memories.
