Steri Tours and Travel

Kenya
Tours & Experiences

Woman-owned. Community-shaped. Kenya, experienced differently.

Steri Tours & Travel is a locally women-owned tour company crafting intentional journeys across Kenya and wider Africa for travellers who want more than just safaris.

This is travel created with heart, placing local communities at the centre, blending meaningful cultural immersion, comfort and quietly elevated luxury.

Co-created cultural experiences

From storytelling and music to time spent in tea farms and village spaces, experiences are co-created with the communities.

They decide what is shared, how it unfolds and how visitors participate, offering access to living traditions rather than staged performances.

A beautiful example is the Agikuyu Cultural & Tea Tour in Tigoni, where guests are welcomed into traditions set against rolling tea fields. Gen Zs collaborate alongside elders, ensuring heritage is perserved, sustained and evolving.

Tourism that creates opportunity

Income from cultural experiences goes directly to participating communities. Drivers and guides are fairly compensated and supported long term. Internships create real pathways for young adults still in college. Accommodation partners are selected for their local sourcing and social impact.

Every journey is made with one principle in mind: tourism should circulate value where it happens.

Designed from the inside

As a women-led company built from lived local experience, Steri Tours crafts personalised itineraries shaped by local connection and trusted networks.

Wildlife, tea country, coast or culture, each journey balances depth with comfort and space to experience the real Africa.

Story behind Steri Tours and Travel

Steri Tours was founded by Phoebe, a Kenyan local who set out to reshape how African journeys are designed.

Originally a teacher, she moved into NGO and social impact work, at times coordinating logistics for international visitors. Along the way, she found herself intentionally curating experiences that revealed the Kenya she knew and loved, beyond polished highlights and into real cultural connection.

Drawing on her background in social impact, Phoebe began designing tours that intentionally integrate cultural exchange and real impact, ensuring each journey creates tangible opportunity for young people and local communities.
