Meran Gorilla Tours and Luxury Safaris
Proudly woman-owned, shaping a slower way to experience Africa.
Ideal for solo travellers, couples and small groups, Meran Gorilla Tours and Luxury Safaris curates relaxed, story-driven journeys across Uganda and East Africa for those who want more than fast-paced sightseeing.
From gorilla trekking and classic wildlife safaris to quieter beach escapes and cultural encounters, 20% of every safari directly funds anti-poaching efforts*, habitat restoration and wildlife research across Uganda’s national parks.
Local people at the heart of it all
Meran works closely with local guides, hires staff from nearby villages and sources services and supplies locally, having created over 150 local jobs* in the process.
Cultural experiences are designed to benefit residents directly, ensuring tourism supports livelihoods and creates long-term opportunities within the communities travellers visit.

Personalised journeys, thoughtfully paced
Activities are intentionally paced to allow time to sit with moments rather than rush through them, whether that’s a long game drive at sunrise, time in a village or quiet moments by the coast.
From accommodation and permits to transport and on-ground support, all logistics are handled with care.

Moments that stay with you
These safaris aren’t just about seeing Africa, they’re about feeling it. Watching wildlife move through open landscapes and sharing stories with local communities. Guests often leave with fewer photos than expected, but deeper memories that linger long after.
Story behind Meran Gorilla Tours and Luxury Safaris
The story began with one woman’s deep love for the beauty and diversity of Uganda.
Founder Merandah, a local Ugandan, wanted to create a safari company focused on authentic, personalised journeys rather than template itineraries, showcasing the country that Sir Winston Churchill famously called the Pearl of Africa.
What started as a personal vision has grown into a dedicated team committed to sharing Uganda’s wildlife, landscapes and warm hospitality, while donating over USD50,000* to conservation efforts and creating more than 150 jobs* within local communities.
*These figures reflect cumulative impact over the years, including direct safari clients, group trips, collaborations and B2B partnerships where the team operated as a ground handler rather than the front facing brand. Much of their earlier work was referral based and offline across local and regional markets. As they expand internationally, they are now building a stronger public presence to reflect this impact more visibly.
