Part of the local community

The entire team is made up of local residents and the hotel works closely with nearby suppliers and initiatives. From supporting local businesses to partnering with a rural library that encourages reading and learning among children, the hotel plays an active role in its community. This connection also extends to the experience itself, from local recommendations to the food served on site, where Asturian dishes and fresh, homemade meals reflect the region.

Run with care for the environment

From reducing food waste in the restaurant to eliminating single use packaging and minimising microplastics in laundry processes, each decision is made with long term impact in mind. The hotel also supports environmental efforts beyond its doors, including contributing to the preservation of the Iberian lynx.

Surrounded by nature

Set beneath the southern peaks of the Picos de Europa, the hotel offers direct access to hiking trails and outdoor activities. Whether you are setting out for a walk, exploring nearby villages or simply sitting on the garden terrace with views of Torre de Cerredo, the landscape naturally shapes how you spend your time here.

Story behind Hotel Torrecerredo

In the early 1980s, when tourism in the region was still limited, a family arrived in the village after struggling to find somewhere to stay. A neighbour sent them to Pilar’s family home, knowing her parents might have a spare room.

They welcomed the travellers in without hesitation.

The next morning, that experience sparked an idea. Pilar’s parents decided to open their home to travellers, starting with just a few rooms. Over time, that home grew into what is now Hotel Torrecerredo, still guided by the same spirit of generosity and care.

Today, the hotel is run by Pilar, daughter of the original founders and her husband Jim. Together, they continue this tradition, creating a stay that still feels like being welcomed into a family home.
